Arnold

Ben Arnold is a member of the faculty council with the Eugene Scassa Model Organization of American States. In this diplomatic competition, his students have received numerous individual and team awards, including Outstanding Delegation (first place overall) at the 2012 Model. Arnold is a senior lecturer in the Political Science Department.
 

Decker

Julia "Julz" C. Decker recently chaired the "Politics of LGBT Families" panel at the Midwestern Political Science Association annual meeting. Professor Decker additionally presented a paper co-authored with Katrina Decker titled "Did the Sky Fall? The Effects of Open Service in the U.S. Armed Forces During the First Year of the Repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'" to the MPSA annual conference. Julz Decker is a lecturer of political science in the Political Science Department.

Julia Drescher and Chris Martin publish a private press, Further Other Book Works, which recently placed materials related to the publication of its first book in special collections across the country, including The Beinecke at Yale, The Poetry Center of The University of Arizona, The Poetry Collection of The University at Buffalo, and Texas State's own Wittliff Collection. The Beinecke purchased everything on offer, including the original manuscript, essentially funding the initial print run of the book. Martin and Drescher are full-time lecturers in the English Department.
 
Farrar
Blake Farrar authored a report with Dr. Yun for the Austin Community College Center for Public Policy and Political Studies titled “Texans Who Registered But Did Not Vote in the 2008 General Election.”  The article received attention from the Associated Press, the Houston Chronicle, the Austin-American Statesman and several other media outlets across the state. Farrar is a full-time lecturer in the Political Science Department.  
 

Huebner

Don Huebner is director of the Freeman Center. The Freeman Ranch has been designated a university-level center that reports to the associate vice president for research and federal relations. Texas State University encourages the use of Freeman Ranch for unfunded research projects conducted by faculty, staff and students from all academic disciplines. Dr. Huebner is a senior lecturer in the Department of Geography.
 

Mora

Sherri Mora co-authored two books in the area of state government and public finance: The State of Texas: Government, Politics, and Policy (McGraw-Hill, 2013) with William Ruger and Edward Mihalkanin, and Public Finance: Politics and Process (Kendall Hunt, 2013) with Kay Hofer and Brendan Scott. In March, Alpha Delta Pi honored her as “Teacher of the Month.” Dr. Mora is a senior lecturer and undergraduate program coordinator for political science and public administration in the Department of Political Science.
 

Patricia Caperton Parent received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Service in the College of Liberal Arts.  This award is given annually.  Parent is a senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science.

Bob Price served as co-principal investigator for a white paper on "Diversity in the Boardroom: Perception versus Reality" for the Texas Healthcare Trustees.  This project was conducted by the Center for Social Inquiry.  Dr. Price is senior instructor in the Department of Sociology.

Rumbo

Joseph Rumbo served as co-director of  "Hill Country Music Scenes Symposium: Scholarly and Community Development Approaches." The symposium was held on February 15, 2013, and was sponsored by the Center for Social Inquiry. Dr. Rumbo is in his second year at Texas State as a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology.
 

Tise

Pam Tise was an invited panelist on “Future Horizons” at the fall 2012 National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration conference in Austin.  Pam is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science.
